New restaurant Mpire launched at 77 Amoy Street

Situated along the Amoy street, Mpire@77 Amoy street is a western fusion dine & bar which aims to create a smoothing and chill dining experience. Upon stepping into the restaurant, I felt awed by the interior design of the space.

With sunlight streaming in the first half of the space, and warm dim lights covering the other, it felt like there was a transition of feelings from being light and cherry to dark and romantic. They also have an amazing mini wine cellar containing different wines.

First to start off, we had some interesting appetizers recommended by the staffs (top to bottom): Burnt Carrots, Citrus Prawns, and Crab Croquette.

The burnt carrots are a treat to my eyes with the interesting textures and colors from the food to the choice of plate. The citrus prawns are huge and juicy, and the lemon helps to start my appetite going for the main course. The crab croquettes are crispy on the outside and creamy in the inside, and it tasted great together with what I think is paprika mixed with mayonnaise sauce.

For the main course, I ordered house-made spice glazed Grilled Pork Belly with garlic mash and haricot beans. If you are a fan of garlic and tender meat you should try this dish! Featured next are Garlic Shrimp Linguine and Classic Beef burger. The shrimps are lightly salted and super juicy! The classic beef was a little tough, hence I think I would give their Slow Roasted Pulled Pork burger a try next time.

Overall, I will recommend you check out this place during lunch hours if you are nearby, and you can get a set lunch of pasta/burger + soup of the day + coffee/tea with just $20! If you would like to have a date night here, get yourself a NTUC membership and get 15% off your bill!

A huge thank you to Anntonii and the team, as well as the foodies that came that day to try out mpire together! I had a wonderful time catching up and bonding over delicious food.
